Founder and CEO
Eddy is the founder and CEO of Peak Retirement Inc. DBA EH SHUM Financial Solutions. Eddy started out as a Certified Public Accountant. He established his business in 1982, and after 7 years of building a very successful accounting practice, he discovered financial planning was his true calling and became a Certified Financial Planner. Eddy is a member of the Institute of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Eddy is a well-known retirement educator in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has conducted over 500 workshops to individuals and families. His retirement seminars have been widely attended by retirees from Pacific Bell, AT&T, PG&E and Chevron. Eddy helps people avoid the common mistakes made by most retirees and has counseled hundreds on how to avoid these pitfalls.
Eddy graduated with a B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. with emphasis in Tax and Accounting from Golden Gate University. Along with his scholastic education, Eddy continually strives to broaden his skills in the financial arena. He has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional certification, which is one of the most respected certifications in the financial planning industry. Eddy has also been quoted numerous times by the SF Chronicle and the Chinese Times and was admitted into the "1993 Who's Who Registry of Global Business Leaders."
Eddy has been a member of the Million Dollar Round Table1 for over 10 years and has received the Top of the Table award for 10 consecutive years. Eddy has received the Golden Dragon Award2, given by the Worldwide Chinese Life Insurance Congress, 10 times in recognition of his exceptional knowledge and expertise. He is the only planner in the United States with this record of achievement.
When he is not at work, Eddy spends his time giving back to the community. He has served as the president of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association and the Sam Yup Benevolent Association. In 1997, Eddy was the diamond Charity Emperor for the Chinese Newcomers. He has also served on the Board of Self-Help for the Elderly, helping them with planned gifting programs.

Stephanie joined EH Shum Financial Solutions in 2023. She is committed to building lasting relationships with clients based on trust and collaboration. She will be your advocate for financial wellness and financial confidence, so you can enjoy your retirement and leave a meaningful legacy.
Prior to EH Shum Financial, Stephanie worked at JMP Securities as a Vice President in the investment banking and equity capital markets departments, supporting the origination and execution of public and private offerings for nearly seven years.
With the transition from the institutional side of finance to a boutique family financial services firm, Stephanie is able to connect with clients and endeavor to enrich their lives. Stephanie combines her institutional experience with her father's mentorship to help clients maintain investment portfolios that are designed to address their greatest priorities.
Stephanie holds a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University. She holds both the Series 7 and Series 66 registrations and is working towards the Certified Financial Planner certification.
Stephanie lives in San Francisco with her husband and two daughters. Her evenings and weekends typically involve supporting her girls in their Jiu-jitsu practice and volunteering as the treasurer for a Girl Scout troop.
Client Service Associate
Lisa joined EH Shum Financial Solutions in 2020. She has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Her responsibilities include client account services, account maintenance, and facilitation and support of the client onboarding process.
Prior to joining EH Shum Financial, Lisa was a Senior Registered Associate for Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Cupertino. While with those firms, she assisted in trading and managing the calendar for the advisor, and served as a first point contact for client needs including client account maintenance, money movement, trading and other account support services.
Lisa earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
