Eddy Shum, CFP®, PFS, MBA, CLU, RFC®

Eddy is the founder and CEO of Peak Retirement Inc. DBA EH SHUM Financial Solutions. Eddy started out as a Certified Public Accountant. He established his business in 1982, and after 7 years of building a very successful accounting practice, he discovered financial planning was his true calling and became a Certified Financial Planner. Eddy is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Eddy is a well-known retirement educator in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has conducted over 500 workshops to individuals and families. His retirement seminars have been widely attended by retirees from Pacific Bell, AT&T, PG&E and Chevron. Eddy helps people avoid the common mistakes made by most retirees and has counseled hundreds on how to avoid these pitfalls.

Eddy graduated with a B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. with emphasis in Tax and Accounting from Golden Gate University. Along with his scholastic education, Eddy continually strives to broaden his skills in the financial arena. He has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional certification, which is one of the most respected certifications in the financial planning industry. Besides being a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Eddy is also a:

When he is not at work, Eddy spends his time giving back to the community. He has served as the president of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association and the Sam Yup Benevolent Association. In 1997, Eddy was the diamond Charity Emperor for the Chinese Newcomers. He has also served on the Board of Self-Help for the Elderly, helping them with planned gifting programs.
